Application - How to use the waterproofing spray:
For the best results: Always clean items briefly beforehand. However, you do not need to dry them before you start.
- Cover your work surface. Spread out the object - e.g. set up the tent and get it wet.
- Spray the product evenly on the outside. Avoid backpack straps.
- Wait about 2 minutes, then wipe off any excess waterproofing agent with a damp cloth.
- Check carefully to make sure you have really got all the spots.
- Check again after a few minutes and remove any residue with a damp cloth.
* If you do not remove the excess product, it may stain. It is best to test on an inconspicuous area first.
So that the impregnation lasts a long time: For cleaning, it is best to use Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarWash® - not a normal detergent!
If you treat your products with Nikwax Tent & Gear SolarProof® , you do not need heat to activate the water-repellent layer (DWR).
The DWR effect and UV protection are created as soon as the fabric is dry. So: let it dry well before packing!
